Switch Windows Vista Control Panel to the old one and GIVE VISTA A FAMILIAR LOOK

Having trouble using Windows Vista? If so, are you having a little
trouble navigating your way through the new operating system?
At first, it can be quite confusing. Everything you were familiar with in
Windows XP has been changed or moved to another location and that makes
it really hard to get comfortable with your new computer. There are a few
things you can do to change most things back to the way they used to be.
Vista came with a whole new look for the Start menu. If you don’t care for
the Vista look, you can switch the Start back to the way it looked in XP. To do
so, just right click on the Start button and choose Properties. Make sure
you're under the Start Menu tab and select the option for Classic Start
menu. Click OK and you will have your Windows XP start button back.
Once you switch back to the old Start menu, you can also customize it. Hit
the Customize button and you'll see all the choices you have. You can add
or remove items from your Start menu list, you can sort your items, and you
can check through different options from which to choose.

For example, you
can choose to display your favorites, display the Run command, expand the
Control Panel, use the personalized menus, etc. There are so many choices!
When you're done, just click OK twice and you'll be all set.

My top favorite Gadgets for Windows Vista sidebar

The Windows Vista gadget sidebar is so much fun. I personally love these helpful little widgets that are now incorporated into Windows. Here is a list of my top pics that I now cannot live without.

  1. My favorite gadget has to be The Auction Sidebar tool. It shows you  My Ebay. You can customize the settings to show items you are bidding on or selling. As I sell on Ebay it is fantastic for me. If you mouse over an item, it flipsout with more details as shown in the screenshot below.
  2. Another handy gadget is the drop printing feature. All you have to do is Drag a file to the printer and it will print.
  3. My next favorite is called Magic folder. You customize it and set it to put a particular into a specified folder. For example you can set it to put any picture files with the file extensions .gif .jpeg .bmp etc into the picture folder for you. All you have to do is drag and drop the file onto the magic folder. You can do it with any file you like.
  4. The remote desktop gadget is great for me. Looks great too. Makes it incredibly easy to connect to another computer.
